This Privacy Policy explains how Deepsea Logic Media FZ-LLC ("we", "us", "Sailorscope") collects, uses, stores and protects information when you access or use the Helmsman By Sailorscope platform, mobile/desktop application and related services (the "Service").

1. Who we are

Deepsea Logic Media FZ-LLC is a Free Zone company registered in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, operating from VUET3356, Compass Building, Al Hulaila Industrial Zone — FZ, Ras Al Khaimah. We are the data controller for personal data processed through the Service.

2. Information we collect

Account data — name, email, company, role, hashed password, optional offline PIN.
Operational data — vessel particulars, noon reports, voyage logs, charter-party terms, performance metrics submitted by you or your crew.
Device data — device identifier, browser, OS, IP, time-zone, used to enforce single-device login and offline session limits.
Usage data — feature interactions, error logs, sync events, anonymous analytics.
Support data — messages, tickets and attachments you send to us.

3. How we use information

To provide, maintain and secure the Service.
To run performance, predictive and Captain AI advisory features on your data.
To authenticate users, enforce role-based access and prevent abuse.
To respond to support requests and improve product reliability.
To comply with applicable maritime, commercial and data-protection laws.

4. Lawful basis

We process personal data on the basis of (a) the contract with your company, (b) our legitimate interest in operating a secure maritime platform, (c) compliance with legal obligations, and (d) your consent where required (for example, optional analytics or marketing communications).

5. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with: (i) infrastructure sub-processors (cloud hosting, database, email) bound by confidentiality and data-processing terms; (ii) AI inference providers strictly to run requested AI features on the minimum context required; and (iii) authorities where compelled by law.

6. Data location and transfers

Data may be processed in regions where our cloud and AI providers operate. Where data leaves the UAE we rely on standard contractual safeguards and the recipient's certifications.

7. Security

We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest, role-based access control, row-level security, single-device enforcement, audit logging and PBKDF2-hashed PINs for offline unlock. No system is perfectly secure; you must keep your credentials confidential.

8. Retention

Operational records (noon reports, voyages, claims) are retained for the life of your subscription and as required for charter-party evidence. Account data is retained until you request deletion or your subscription ends, subject to legal retention obligations.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law you may request access, correction, deletion, portability or restriction of your personal data, and object to certain processing. Contact enquiry@sailorscope.com.

10. Children

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
